- Dual 3D LiDAR and twelve cameras Two 3D LiDARs, two RGB-D, three fisheye and seven stereo cameras give the U the fullest perception suite in the Faber series.
- Up to 2,070 TOPS on board NVIDIA Jetson Thor T5000 compute runs Faraday Future's embodied AI on the robot, from 500 to 2,070 TOPS depending on configuration.
- Dual 7-axis force-controlled arms Each arm carries up to 5 kg, with joint force/torque sensing and force-control accuracy better than 0.5 N.
- More than four hours per charge A 1,652 Wh battery keeps the 185 kg robot working for more than four hours per charge.
- Height-adjustable body The body adjusts between 1,225 and 1,700 mm, so one robot can serve benches, racks and line-side stations.
- Open to integrators Ubuntu 22.04, ROS, an open SDK and API, secondary development support and OTA upgrades come as standard.
- Skills by download New tasks are added as downloadable skills from Faraday Future's EAI brain instead of line-by-line reprogramming.
Description
The FF Faber U is the perception and compute flagship of Faraday Future's Faber series of industrial mobile manipulators: a wheeled, height-adjustable robot with two 7-axis force-controlled arms, built to drive to a task and carry it out with its own hands. Faraday Future introduced the Faber series at Automate in Chicago in June 2026.
What sets the U apart is how much it sees and computes on board. Two 3D LiDARs, two RGB-D cameras, three fisheye cameras and seven stereo cameras feed an NVIDIA Jetson Thor T5000 module, with 500 to 2,070 TOPS depending on configuration: the highest perception and compute specification in the Faber range. That is the headroom Faraday Future's embodied AI uses to plan and execute tasks rather than follow fixed scripts.
The intended work sits between what fixed arms and AMRs can do: loading and unloading at docks and line-side stations, picking and tote transfer across racking, machine tending and material supply between cells, and inspection rounds through plant rooms and data-centre aisles. Each arm handles up to 5 kg, the body adjusts between 1,225 and 1,700 mm, and a 1,652 Wh battery gives more than four hours per charge.
The platform is open: Ubuntu 22.04, ROS, an open SDK and API and OTA upgrades, with new capabilities delivered as downloadable skills. Choose the U when perception and autonomy matter most; the Faber T is built around dexterous hands and the Faber S around an omnidirectional chassis, and both are announced but not yet shipping.
